What is Zumba?

Zumba

Zumba Fitness is an aerobic dance program based on traditional Latin American music, rhythms, and dance. Classes are 70% Latin and International music, and 30% instructor’s choice. The focus in a Zumba class is on having fun. If you’re doing it right, you might even forget you’re burning calories too!

Zumba incorporates salsa, cumbia, merengue, reggaeton, and other Latin dances with African, Indian, Greek, and other international music. Many classes also include pop and hip-hop songs from popular radio stations.

Zumba Toning

Zumba Toning is a specialty program that combines Zumba dance moves with toning exercises using special Toning Sticks or, alternatively, small hand weights. The toning program helps students increase muscle definition and mass, and is a great introduction to basic weight training for students who already love aerobics or dance but have never used weights.

Zumbatomic

Zumbatomic is a special program design just for kids, with music, choreography, and games that are age-appropriate and fun. The Little Starz program is for children ages 4-8, and the Big Starz program is for children from 9-12. (At 13 years, students may continue with Zumbatomic or move into regular adult Zumba classes.)

I am licensed to teach all of these programs. The Zumba Fitness program also includes Aqua Zumba and Zumba Gold (for seniors and beginners).
